Assumed knowledge	Navigation to Coastal Skipper Shorebased standard. Boat handling to Day Skipper standard
Course content	Safety, passage planning, pilotage by day and night, boat handling and emergency situations
Ability after course	Skipper a motor cruiser / sailing yacht.
Duration	5 days
The more ambitious cruising skipper can improve his or her skills on a Coastal Skipper course. The course consists of longer skippered passages by each student in a whole variety of situations including night time and simulated restrictive visibility.
