Shore Based Theory Courses

Day Skipper

Suggested pre-course experience	Some practical experience desirable but not essential.

Course Content	Preparation for exam including A comprehensive introduction to chartwork Navigation Collision regulations & basic seamanship
Ability after course	Sufficient knowledge to navigate around familiar waters by day.
Invaluable for learning how to start making decisions on board and if you are considering taking the day skipper practical course.

Coastal & Yachtmaster

Coastal & Yachtmaster

Suggested pre-course experience	Knowledge equivilant to the day skipper shorebased course.
Assumed knowledge	Navigation to day skipper standard and some practical experience is recommended.
Course Content	Preparation for exam including Esssential for those looking to do the Coastal Practical course and those about to take the Coastal or Yachtmaster practical exam. Some revision of the day skipper shorebased course is included, plus more advanced skills in offshore & coastal navigation by day and night, pilotage and meteorology.
Ability after course	Understands the principles of navigating on offshore & coastal passages by day and night.
