YACHTMASTER OFFSHORE (Power & Sail) preparation and exam

Suggested pre-course experience 50 days aboard, 5 as a skipper, 2500 miles (50% of which must be in tidal waters, 5 passages of over 60 miles including 2 as a skipper and 2 overnight. VHF or SRC license and first aid certificate
Assumed knowledge Contents of a Coastal Skipper/- Yachtmaster Shorebased course. Contents of a Coastal Skipper Practical course.
Course content Preparation for exam including , practice exercise in navigation, tidal theory, boat handling, crew management, meteorology, IRPCS, MOB recovery, restricted visibility navigation and passage planning
Ability after course Motor cruiser / sailing yacht

Duration 5 days training 1 day for exam



This course is for those experienced skippers who wish to advance still further, or who are perhaps considering a career in the professional yachting industry.
